+ Be Yourself
This
is by far the most important piece of information to take into Rush. In order to find the fraternity that is best
suited for you, you must be yourself. Forget the stereotypes or what that
fraternity is 'looking for', just sit back and relax.
+ Research
It will help you narrow down the list of possible fraternities, and allows you to come into Rush week well informed. This website is a great resource, all fraternities and their respective websites are listed in the Fraternities
section.
+ Register
Use the link on this page (here) and register for Rush. Registration is free, but required and will keep you informed on any changes.
+ Make your own decision
The next four years of your life are up to you, and only you. Don't miss out on the chapter of your choice based on peer pressure. Join the fraternity that you feel most comfortable with.
+ Ask Questions
What makes your fraternity different?
What values does your fraternity hold?
How large is your fraternity?
What else are your members involved with?
What kind of events does your fraternity host?
+ Basic Rush Process 1) Attend Recruitment Events
The Interfraternity Council as well as individual Fraternities put on events during Summer and Fall that allow you to get to know each fraternity and thier members. Check out the Calender to learn more.
2) Attend Rush at Memory Mall
Rush is the term used to describe recruitment week, and it is the ONLY time that you can join a fraternity during the semester. This year Rush takes place the second week of Spring, January 19th (Wednesday)- 21st(Friday). It will be located at Memory Mall and it starts at 8:00 pm and goes till 11:00pm.
3) Join
After you have attended Recruitment Events and Rush week, Fraternities that are interested in having you join thier organization will offer you a 'bid'. You can either accept it and join that organization, decline, or hold on to it and think it over. It's that simple!
